Who is Laura Loomer? Trump accidentally spills MAGA influencer's engagement news

If there's one person on Trump's side who has been offering him their unwavered support no matter what he does, it's Laura Loomer. The 32-year-old far right political activist has been looming in the MAGA circles for long enough to finally be invited inside.

Her induction in the Trump county was recently formalised as during his White House Christmas party speech, he gave a shout-out to the controversial internet personality and also spilled the beans on her engagement.

What did Trump say about Laura Loomer?

During his speech, Trump appreciated Loomer as a "very beautiful young woman", before quipping that she is "very low-key, not controversial at all."

“Where’s Laura? Where’s your boyfriend?” he added visually searching for her in the crowd from his podium. “You’re getting married,” the president said. “There’s another couple that are getting married,” he added, referencing to his own son's engagement announcement.

“When are you getting married?” he asked, to which Loomer replied, “We don’t know yet, we haven’t announced it...you’re the first person to announce it!”

Trump laughed it off and gave the decision his seal of approval, adding that Loomer has "a big heart."

The right-wing conspiracy theorist took to her favourite social media app, to officially announce her engagement later. Referencing on Trump's announcement, Loomer wrote, “It was an honor to be recognized by President Trump at the White House Christmas Party. It is an even bigger honor that the President of the United States just scooped me on publicly announcing my own engagement to the world from the White House!"

“I’m very excited to be getting married, and I am thrilled that the greatest President ever approves of the greatest man in my life. Thank you, President Trump!,” she added.

Who is Laura Loomer?

Laura Elizabeth Loomer, born in May 1993, Tucson, Arizona is an American far-right political activist, conspiracy theorist and internet personality. According to her website, Loomered, she is an 'investigative journalist who never backs down'.

She has worked as an activist for numerous organizations including Project Veritas, the Geller Report, Rebel News and InfoWars. Currently, she posts MAGA-related news on her website Loomered and hosts a show, Loomer Unleashed, on Rumble.

How did she get her start? Well, Loomer was still a senior at Barry University when she made an undercover video, secretly filming university officials discussing her proposal to create a club for students who support the Islamic State or ISIS. The footage was picked by Project Veritas, the conservative group that the right-wing provocateur James O'Keefe founded. The stunt also got her a gig with Project Veritas.

How she got Trump's attention? Her early attention-grabbing moment was in 2017 when she interrupted a performance of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" in New York as the production gave the emperor a marked resemblance to Trump. In 2020, she ran for Congress in Florida's 21st District as a Republican and won the primary. This led Trump to congratulate her on Twitter, writing, “Great going Laura. You have a great chance against a Pelosi puppet!”

While the administration may have made multiple attempts to sideline her presence, Loomer now has the attention of the most important man in America. In April, Loomer urged Trump to fire national security council officials for being insufficiently loyal. Trump endorsed her assessment and later fired the director of the National Security Agency and his deputy director.

She has even accompanied Trump on his 9/11 anniversary travels in New York and Pennsylvania in 2024. She has been banned from numerous social media apps including Facebook.

Recently, Loomer also got a credential at the Pentagon after virtually all mainstream news organizations covering the Defense Department handed in their badges in October.

Who is Laura Loomer's fiancée?

Well, the world wants to know. Not much is known about Loomer's partner apart from the fact that they met on a plane and have been dating for over a year. She has said that he does not work in politics but is "politically informed."

She was pictured with a mystery man at a White House Hanukkah event on Tuesday, but the confirmation on her fiancée remains awaited. “I keep him away from the media because I don’t want him to be targeted, obviously,” she said on the PBD Podcast earlier this year.
