Akshaye Khanna has been receiving a lot of appreciation and love from the audience for his latest release, 'Dhurandhar'. Amidst the buzz around the actor, old clips of the actor are going viral on the internet. One of the clips showcased Akshaye talking about reports of being approached by the original writer and director of 'Taare Zameen Par', Amole Gupte, for the movie.In a throwback interview with Mid-Day, Akshaye Khanna revealed, "No, he didn't. He approached Aamir because he was a friend of Aamir's. Aamir, being Aamir, said, 'I can't recommend a script unless I hear it first. So make me hear it, and if I like it, I will tell Akshaye'." Khanna added that Aamir Khan liked the script so much that he ended up doing the film. Akshaye further shared, "And then one day I was shooting at one of these studios, Mehboob, I think it was. And Aamir was also shooting on one of the floors. So I just went to say hi, and then he was like, 'Oh, you know what, this happened, and I didn't allow him to come to you; I did the film myself.' So I said, 'Okay, no problem.'"Akshaye Khanna praised Aamir Khan and his performance in 'Taare Zameen Par'. He said, "No. I don't think I could have done a better job than Aamir. He was superb, so it was good that destiny kind of chose him."Aamir Khan played the role of Ram Shankar Nikumbh in the movie. The film went on to become a blockbuster. The film starred Darsheel Safary, Aamir Khan, Tisca Chopra, Vipin Sharma, and Tanay Chheda. It was released in December 2007. The actor is currently enjoying the success of 'Dhurandhar', in which he played the role of Rehman Dakait. Next, he will star in the movie 'Mahakali', directed by Puja Kolluru. With this, the actor is set to make his Telugu cinema debut.
