What started as a normal day near the Kalothare Wali Mata temple in Kangra quickly turned into a “wait, what did we just see?” moment for locals.
On the ground lay something that looked like a bunch of dry roots. At first, no one paid much attention. But out of curiosity, someone tossed a stone towards it. That is when everything changed.
The “roots” moved.
What actually happened
Within seconds, people realized it was not roots at all but a group of large pythons quietly resting together.
As reported by NDTV, locals said there were around five to six big snakes, all coiled up in one place. It is not a sight people come across often, which is why it left many surprised.
As soon as they were disturbed, the snakes quickly slipped away and disappeared into the nearby forest.
People captured it on camera
Phones were out almost immediately. A few people recorded the moment, and the videos are now being widely shared on social media.
Many who have seen the clips say it is both surprising and unsettling, especially for those living close to forest areas.
What officials are saying
According to the report, the forest department has been informed about the sighting.
Officials have said there is no need to panic, but people should remain alert.
They have also advised residents not to approach or disturb wildlife.
What to know about pythons
Pythons are not venomous, which means they do not have poison. They usually catch their prey by wrapping around it and tightening their grip.
They mostly stay away from humans and prefer living quietly in forests, bushes, or near water.
But like any wild animal, they can react if they feel disturbed or threatened. So it is always better to keep a safe distance and not go too close.
Disclaimer: Readers are advised not to approach or disturb wild animals. If such sightings occur, maintain a safe distance and inform the local forest department or authorities.Thumb image: Instagram
