What started as a lighthearted joke on Instagram has now turned into a full-blown viral moment. Delhi-based content creator Yuvraj Dua recently took a rather unusual route to solve a very relatable problem - his father’s love for sugar.
In a reel, Dua shared a humorous take on how deeply his father admires Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With over a million followers, the influencer didn’t hold back as he joked that his father treats everything the PM says like a strict instruction manual.
“If my father is watching TV, even if a dragon flies past, he won’t look away… that’s how focused he is...” Dua admitted in the video that his father admired the PM.
But the real twist? He made a direct appeal to the Prime Minister himself.
Through the caption “Sugar kam karwa do Papa ki” (please help reduce my father’s sugar intake), Dua playfully suggested that if Modi ji asked his father to cut down on sugar, he might actually listen.
And surprisingly, it worked - at least in spirit.
The Prime Minister came across the video and reshared it on his official Instagram account, adding a message that struck the perfect balance between humour and health advice.
“On Yuvraj’s request, I urge his father (and everyone else) to reduce sugar intake… be healthy, be happy,” he wrote.
He didn’t stop there. Using the moment to talk about preventive healthcare, Modi also highlighted the risks of excessive sugar consumption, pointing out how it can lead to several health issues, including obesity. He further encouraged people to adopt healthier habits and even suggested making yoga a part of daily life.
Meanwhile, the internet had a field day.
In the video, Dua had also joked about how many Indian fathers seem to admire the Prime Minister a little more than their own families. “Friends come third, family second, and Modiji first,” he said, adding a playful twist to the classic father-son dynamic.
After getting a shoutout from the Prime Minister himself, Dua could hardly believe it. Reacting to the moment, he shared, “This feels surreal… never imagined my video would reach here.”
Social media users quickly flooded the comments. Some said they had landed on the reel straight from Modi’s story, while others joked that Dua’s father must now finally listen. A few even called it “government-approved content,” congratulating him on the unexpected spotlight.
What began as a simple, funny request ended up becoming a wholesome reminder - with a dash of humour - that sometimes, even a reel can spark a real-life change.
