Harry Potter's Hogwarts Express chugs in this summer with the platform 9¾ entrance: When and where can you enjoy it with family and friends

And this fictional experience is about to come true for Potterheads, as Southern California is about to get a little more magical this summer.

The buzz is already building around Perris, but what makes this story interesting is not just the theme, but the way it combines nostalgia, travel, and family entertainment into one outing designed for fans of all ages.

Hogwarts Express is chugging its way this summer

A new wizard-themed rail adventure is on its way to Southern California, bringing a bit of Hogwarts-style wonder to Perris this summer.


According to the City of Perris press release, “The City of Perris is excited to announce a magical new experience coming to the Southern California Railway Museum (SCRM) — the Hogwarts Express Adventure train ride, inspired by the beloved Harry Potter series.”

The event will run on select dates from July 24 through September 27, giving visitors several chances to take part in the limited run.

The most magical part of the ride- Platform 9¾

The experience is designed as a full-themed outing rather than a simple train ride. According to the Southern California Railway Museum, guests will begin with a pre-boarding moment that gives them “their own Platform 9¾ moment before stepping aboard the real moving train.” Once on board, riders can expect “high-energy activities, house celebrations, and surprising encounters that celebrate iconic Hogwarts Express moments.”

How long does one ride last?

The museum also notes that the “entire adventure will last roughly two hours,” with “a one-hour train ride” forming the core of the trip.

After the ride, visitors can stay for a post-ride experience that includes themed food, Butterbeer, and exclusive merchandise, while fans are encouraged to wear robes and show off their house pride.


The guests can wander through a Hogsmeade-inspired village, and during the journey, a trolley filled with wizard-themed treats will also be available.
