There’s no denying that nature has some of the best-kept secrets, and these snow animals are some of the msot unique animals that are worth knowing! Our Earth has some cold places and you would think that nothing can live there. Some of the most amazing animals on our planet call these icy places home. They do not just survive; they actually thrive in these places. Their bodies are made to live in the cold all the time.
The Narwhal
The Narwhal lives in the waters of the Arctic. They spend their lives swimming under the thick ice and they come up for air through small holes in the ice. The male Narwhal has a long tusk that is like a super sensitive tooth. The Narwhal uses this tusk to feel the water around it to know how cold or warm it is and to know how salty it is.
The Emperor Penguin
When it gets cold most penguins go to a place. The Emperor Penguin goes to the cold place. They are the animals with bones that have babies in the cold winter. They have to deal with strong winds and very cold temperatures. To stay warm the emperor penguin has four layers of feathers that are like scales. The Emperor Penguin also has a nose that keeps its body heat from going out into the cold air.

The Arctic Fox is an animal with really warm fur. Its body is made to keep warm with legs and small ears. The Arctic Fox has a body that keeps the warmth inside. The Arctic Fox changes its fur with the seasons. In the summer the Arctic Fox has fur that blends in with the rocks. In the winter the Arctic Fox has fur that blends in with the snow.
The Antarctic Icefish
The Antarctic Icefish lives under the ice in the water. It is the animal with a backbone that has clear blood. The Antarctic Icefish makes a protein that keeps its body from freezing.This protein stops the ice from forming in its body so the Antarctic Icefish does not get hurt.
The Polar Bear
The Polar Bear is the animal that lives on land and eats meat. It is made to live on the ice in the Arctic. The Polar Bear hunts seals on the ice. It is a great swimmer. The Polar Bear has a layer of fat under its skin that keeps it warm. The Polar Bear looks white. Its fur is actually clear and it reflects the light. The Polar Bears skin is black which helps it to get warm, from the sun.
