Tiruchanur kidnapping case: Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu named as accused

A kidnapping case has been registered against 13 persons, including actor Mohan Babu, Vishnu Manchu and the public relations officer of Mohan Babu University, in connection with an incident reported in Tiruchanur, Tirupati district, on February 3. Based on a complaint filed by Students’ Federation of India (SFI) leader Akbar, Tiruchanur police have invoked sections related to kidnapping, criminal conspiracy and assault, reports said.In a counter-complaint, the university’s PRO alleged that student union leaders circulated false information on social media to harm the institution’s reputation and demanded money from the management. Acting on the complaint, Chandragiri police registered a separate case against Akbar and others, police sources said.
