Richa Chadha reacts to Kanpur tragedy, questions hospital after newborn dies in incubator fire

On Sunday evening (February 8), a tragic incident took place in Kanpur when a newborn baby died after a fire broke out in the neonatal ICU of a nursing home. The family blamed the hospital staff for negligence and claimed they tried to hide the incident after the fire. The news has caused shock and sadness across the country, prompting actress Richa Chadha to speak up and raise questions.In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), actress Richa wrote that a fetus develops from the size of a tiny sesame seed into a full-term baby weighing around three kilograms over nine long and challenging months, arriving in the world through intense pain experienced by both the mother and the child. She wrote, “A foetus grows from the size of a sesame seed into a full grown baby veighing close to 3 kgs over 9 painful, laborious, inconvenient months. t enters the world with immense pain.. both for the self and the mother. For this? Is this what you think you deserve ? To live and die like this?”. According to reports, a baby died after getting severe burns when a fire broke out in the NICU of Raja Nursing Home in Bithoor. The fire started because of a short circuit in a warmer machine. After the baby’s family complained, health officials checked the hospital and found that the ICU was running without a proper license, so they sealed it. The family also said the hospital staff did not tell them about the fire for several hours.
