The TV & web-series actress is making her celluloid debut with Vishwak Sen’s Falaknuma Das

Owing to instant popularity, overnight stardom and celebrity status, several divas hailing from different parts of the country tend to try their luck in Indian cinema. While a few of them manage to make it big in the showbiz world, other starlets have either sacrificed their dreams or settled down in their own territories limiting themselves to supporting roles. Amid this scenario, a young Mumbai actress who has proved her mettle in daily soaps and web series’ is all set for a celluloid debut in Tollywood.

Her name is Harshita Gaur and she is essaying one among the two female lead roles in Vishwak Sen’s Telugu remake of Malayalam superhit ‘Angamaly Diaries’. Touted to be a dark comedy, ‘Falaknuma Das’ deals with the underbelly of a city filled with offensive characters and objectionable behaviour. The film was entirely shot in Hyderabad and its authenticity is visible. Harshita Gaur will be seen as a medico in the crime drama which is set for a solid release on May 31. Ravishing actress born into a family of doctors

Born in the capital city of New Delhi, Harshita hails from a family of doctors. Upon completion of her Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, she stepped foot into the glamour world to try out her luck. Despite being an engineer by degree, she was always inclined to become an actor in all mediums like cinema, theatre and web. The hot belle is also a trained Kathak dancer and has performed at several stage shows across India. During her college & school days, Harshita was an active participant in drama and creative societies.

Model-turned-TV actress

The talented diva started off her glamour journey in the field of modelling and featured in many commercials for popular products in the country. While pursuing her Engineering Degree itself, Harshita Gaur managed to grab a big offer from the makers of ‘Sadda Haq’. She portrayed the lead role of Sanyukta Agrawal in the youthful-drama and managed to nail it with her charming looks and arresting screen-presence. The TV show ran for three years on a famous channel with good TRPs to its credit.

Impressive stint in web television series’

After wrapping up ‘Sadda Haq’ in 2016, Harshita Gaur shifted her focus towards web and portrayed some interesting roles in popular shows like ‘Black Coffee’, ‘Mirzapur’ and ‘Puncch Beat’. Presently, she is shooting for the second season of ‘Sacred Games’ which is jointly directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. Besides this web stuff, she is playing the leading lady in Divyendu Sharma’s upcoming Bollywood film ‘Kanpuriye’. Starring Aparshakti Khurana, Harsh Mayar, Harshita Gaur and Vijay Raaz in lead roles, the coming-of-age film showcases the story of three young men who are willing to go to any extent to realise their dreams.

Grand debut into cinema with Falaknuma Das

In ‘Falaknuma Das’, Harshita will be portraying the role of Sakhi, an MBBS student and a spirited girl who has her values intact. Expressing excitement on her debut project, she states that South cinema always springs a surprise with their concept of cinema. The leggy lass admits that the biggest challenge faced by her for ‘Falaknuma Das’ has been to get the language and expressions right. However, she tried to understand the meaning of Telugu dialogues so that she could express better. Young actor Vishwak Sen has donned the hats of both the hero and director for the action-thriller.
