'Dude' Box office, Ram Charan Upasana double delight: News Makers of this Diwali week (2025) in South Indian cinema

For South Indian cinema this Diwali 2025 was mix of celebration, emotion, and remembrance. Pradeep Ranganathan’s ‘Dude’ dominates the box office

Tamil filmmaker and actor Pradeep Ranganathan once again proved his magic at the ticket window. In just six days movie has crossed Rs 100 crore. It received the mix reviews from thr audience but during the Diwali holiday movie perfomed well. Pradeep posted on social media thanking fans for the ‘Dude’ movie success. The actor, who has done only three movies, all his movies crossed Rs 100 crore. ‘Dude’ tell the stoey of youngsters, whose lives change after she proposes marriage to him. Directed by Keerthiswaran , it starr Mamitha baiju as female lead, alongside R. Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, Neha Shetty in important role.

Ram Charan and Upasana’s double delight

Diwali 2025 turned even brighter for star couple Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela. As the couple announced on instagram that they becoming parents again, they caption “This Diwali was all about double the celebration,double the love and double the blessings”. In last part of video there is two foot prints to which speculated they are having twins, later Upasana’s mother confirm that both are expecting twins. The two welcomed a baby girl Klin Kaara, on June 20, 2023.

Remembering B. Bupathi and M.C. Sabesan

The week also brought sorrow as the industry bid farewell to two respected figures. Veteran actor B. Bupathi passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 70, following health complications.He was the only son of legendary actresss and comedienne Manorams. Bupath debut in the movie ‘Kudumbam Oru Kadabam’.

On the same day, noted music composer M.C. Sabesan, aged 68, also passed away after prolonged illness. The younger brother of composer Deva, Sabesan, along with Murali, created memorable melodies as the ‘Sabesh-Murali’ duo. Their contributions continue to echo through Tamil cinema’s musical legacy.
