'Akhanda 2' box office collections day 15: Balayya's film slows down; Earns only Rs 45 lakhs
Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 'Akhanda 2 Thaandavam' is now moving at a slow pace at the box office. The film has entered its third week and the numbers are clearly going down. On Day 15 the film earned much less compared to earlier days. After a strong start the film is now facing a drop in footfalls across theatres.
On its fifteenth day 'Akhanda 2 Thaandavam' collected around Rs 45 lakhs India net across all languages as reported by the Sacnilk website. The film had earned about Rs 89.05 crore in its first 14 days. With Day 15 added the total collection now stands close to Rs 89.5 crore India net. On Day 14 the film collected Rs 1.45 crore mostly from the Telugu version. The second week total came to around Rs 12.3 crore which shows a big fall compared to the opening week.
The theatre occupancy on Friday stayed low. 'Akhanda 2 Thaandavam' recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 19.87 percent. Morning shows saw 16.26 percent occupancy. Afternoon shows improved slightly to 20.90 percent. Evening shows stayed around 21.15 percent. Night shows were also close at 21.17 percent. These numbers show that the film is not pulling large crowds anymore.
Audience reactions are mixed. An internet user wrote “Nandamuri Balakrishna, what an actor. Pulled the second half entirely on his shoulders. I was so impressed with the variations he showed in every close up. Its a mass feast for Balayya Babu fans.” Another fan shared criticism and wrote “Pre Interval to Climax senseless Boya - Bala rampage. Thaman what a man… Akhanda 1 bgm tiskochi madyalo Akhanda 2 bgm tho kalipi kottav chudu. Thank You #BoyapatiSrinu. End credits lo chusam ni kasi.”
