Who’s the voice behind Aishwarya Rai’s character Nandhini in ‘Ponniyin Selvan’?

Mani Ratnam's magnum opus, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is set to release in theatres on September 30. The film stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram Prabhu, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Prakash Raj among others. While the mentioned actors play various historical characters, Aishwarya Rai plays princess Nandhini in the film.

As many know, Aishwarya Rai needs a voice artist in the film for her dubbing, actress Deepa Venkat has lent her voice to Nandhini's character. Actress Deepa Venkat is also a well-known voice artist. She has been praised for being the voice for Nayanthara. Taking to Instagram, Deepa Venkat shared the poster of Aishwarya Rai from ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ and wrote, “What do I say about this? Going to crescent avenue and entering the studio of Madras Talkies is like going home. Warm, friendly faces and fun chats catching up with technicians and staff at the office.”

She shared her experience and challenges of dubbing for the role of Nandhini. Deepa continued, “Except you don't know what challenges are waiting for you when you enter the dub suite. But every time I leave this studio, overwhelmed and with a sense of fulfillment. Being part of films like ‘Kannathil Muthamittaal’, ‘Guru’, ‘Cheliya’ (Telugu version of ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’), ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ and now, ‘PS-1’, has enriched me in more ways than I can think of. This is my first one, for the enchanting and deeply committed actor, Aishwarya Rai. I have more to share about her. But that has to be a separate post.
