'Sirai': Soori praises performances of lead stars, calls the real-life inspired drama a “compelling drama”

'Sirai', which was released in theaters on Christmas, has received rave reviews from the audience, critics, and industry people. After watching the film, comedian Soori heaped praise on the film’s script and the actors. Soori called ‘Sirai’ an “honest movie” and said that while watching the film, there were a few instances where he was just looking at the screen and praying every time the protagonist was in danger. He also complimented director Suresh Rajakumari for directing an excellent story and praised Vikram Prabhu and newcomer Akshay Kumar for their performances.

Story inspired by real-life police officer experiences

The narrative of 'Sirai' was penned down by a well-known Tamizh, who earlier directed 'Taanakkaran'. The film has its inspiration based on a factual account of a previous police officer, rich with fictional musical embellishments. Backed by a premium production house that recently financed leading hits like 'Master' and 'Leo' featuring Vijay, Sirai is the maiden venture for Akshay Kumar.

Debut performances and technical brilliance contribute to cinematic appeal

The cast also features Anishma Anilkumar, known for 'I AM Kadhalan', making her Tamil debut.
