Sasikumar stresses faith in good cinema as 'My Lord' team celebrates the film's success; Raju Murugan on filmmaking challenges
Actor Sasikumar expressed unwavering faith in 'My Lord's' success, emphasizing that good cinema prevails despite initial box office concerns. Director Raju Murugan highlighted the film's social impact, aiming to raise awareness against kidney theft. Murugan also reflected on the evolving role of filmmakers, now deeply involved in promotions, and thanked the cast and crew for their dedication.
Actor Sasikumar spoke with confidence at the Thanksgiving event of 'My Lord'. He said a good director and a good producer should never fail, and that is why he personally travelled to many places to promote the film. Many people were worried after seeing the first-day box office numbers, but he was not afraid. He strongly believes that a good film will take its own time to reach the audience. He remembered how 'Ayothi' became successful only after the first week and said this film too will grow in the same way.

Cinema that creates social change

As per Nakkheeran, Sasikumar also spoke about the vision of the producerr, who always wants every film to bring some positive change to society. He shared examples from earlier films. 'Ayothi' helped start a scheme that gives financial support to take the bodies of deceased people back to their hometowns. 'Nandhan' created awareness and helped social community leaders hoist flags in village panchayats without trouble. In the same way, he believes 'My Lord' will create awareness and help prevent kidney theft crimes.

Raju Murugan on changing times and promotions

Director Raju Murugan thanked the audience for understanding the film and sharing their emotional responses with him.
He expressed special gratitude to Ambedkumar for being the main reason behind the film and to Sasikumar for carrying the project with full faith from the beginning till release. He said cinema has changed a lot from the time he entered the industry. Earlier, a writer’s work was only to write and a director’s work was mainly during shooting and post-production, but now they must be involved even till the release.

'My Lord' - Cast, crew and story of the film

Raju Murugan also admitted that he was not interested in promotions earlier because of his background as a journalist, but now he understands that promotion is an important part of filmmaking. 'My Lord' features Chaitra, Asha Sarath, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, Gopi Nainar, and Vasu Mithra in key roles, with music by Sean Roldan. The film is a social thriller that revolves around a gang involved in kidney theft and the impact of this crime on ordinary people.
