Kollywood celebs thank frontline workers on Labour Day
Labour Day is observed every year on May 1 and it celebrates the achievements of workers world over. Today, as India continues to fight the second wave of the pandemic, social media is flooded with wishes for the frontline workers, appreciating their tireless efforts in saving many lives and containing the spread of the virus. Our Kollywood celebs, too, have been sharing messages of appreciation and thanking the frontline workers for their efforts.
Sharing an illustration of frontline workers, including doctors, nurses, cops, sanitary workers, food vendors and others, actor Bharath wished all the “hardworking people” a happy Labour Day. The actor also shared a quote of Mother Teresa, which reads, “The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it”.
Keerthy Suresh also shared a note with an illustration of frontline workers in masks. She wrote saying that this is a day dedicated to all who continue to fight tirelessly for the society. Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar thanked everyone who work for the wellbeing of others. And she made a point that we should respect them by being responsible and safe. Aishwarya Rajesh wrote, “This world wouldn’t be what it is, if not for the contribution of workers (sic).”
The actress also quoted French author Andre Gide and wished all workers, including frontline COVID-19 worriers, a happy May Day. Whereas, Aathmika wrote, “Hard Work is in our blood. This time we need to Stay Home to help the Hard working frontline COVID-19 warriors to save our lives. (sic).”
