'Oomai Vizhigal' - 1986

After developing himself as a leading actor, Vijayakanth started to encourage new talents in cinema. As a piece of evidence, Vijayakanth played a key role in 'Oomai Vizhigal', which was made by a group of film students. The crime thriller ran for more than 150 days in theaters and turned out as a profitable venture for the makers. 'Oomai Vizhigal' features Vijayakanth, Arun Pandian, Karthik Chandrasekhar, and Jaishankar in lead roles while Ravichandran and Malaysia Vasudevan played negative roles.

'Captain Prabhakaran' - 1991

'Captain Prabhakaran' is a special film in Vijayakanth's career since it marked the actor's 100th film. Vijayakanth played the role of a forest officer, Prabhakaran IFS, and fought against a forest brigand. This action drama of Vijayakanth was mostly shot in the forest, and this set a new trend in Tamil cinema. 'Captain Prabhakaran', which was directed by RK Selvamani was loosely based on the story of forest brigand Veerappan.

'Chinna Gounder' - 1992

The village drama 'Chinna Gounder', which was directed by RV Udhayakumar stars Vijayakanth, Sukanya, Manorama, Salim Ghouse, Sathyapriya, Goundamani, Senthil and Vadivelu. Vijayakanth played the role of loyal village president, and his character was well enjoyed by the fans. 'Chinna Gounder' also turned out as the biggest hit in Vijayakanth's career by grossing great numbers at the box office.

'Vaanathaippola' - 2000

The family drama 'Vaanathaippola' stars Vijayakanth, Meena, Prabhu Deva, Livingston, Kausalya, and Anju Aravind. Vijayakanth played the dual role as brothers, and the film mixed with love, emotion, and action was well appreciated by the audience. There are a lot of family dramas after the super hit of 'Vaanathaippola'. The film, which was directed by Vikraman, had a theatrical run of over 250 days.
