Ajith Kumar has resumed work only days after losing his mother Mohini Mani. She passed away on May 30 at the age of 89. The actor returned to the racetrack on Thursday and received support from fans across social media platforms.
Ajith Kumar's racing team shares emotional update
Ajith Kumar Racing's official social media account shared several photos of the actor before he returned to racing activities. The images showed Ajith in racing gear preparing for the next stage of his work schedule.
Along with the pictures, the team wrote, “Back at work with a heavy heart but life must go on! #AjithKumarRacing #AK #AjithKumar #AjithRedantRacing.” Some photographs also captured quiet moments before the race.
Family remembers Mohini Mani's journey
The family also shared heartfelt words while remembering Mohini Mani and the life she lived. They reflected on her values, personality and the impact she had on everyone around her.
The statement read, “We are comforted, even in this time of grief, that she lived a long life and could be counted among the lucky ones – to have known the undying love and care of dear ones and the genuine respect of just about everyone who came to know her kind nature, selfless spirit, and quiet grace.”
They also spoke about her experiences growing up during a significant period in history. The family added, “As someone who was part of the wave of Sindhis who migrated over to newly independent India at the time of Partition, as a child, leaving everything behind and starting over, she also derived immense satisfaction and pride from seeing her brood go on to do well in life.”

On May 31, visuals from Mohini Mani's funeral ceremonies surfaced online. Ajith personally participated in the final rites held at Chennai's Besant Nagar Crematorium.

Ajith reportedly returned from Dubai soon after hearing the news and reached Chennai to be with his family. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay also met Ajith and conveyed his condolences to the grieving family.
