Punjabi artist Gippy Grewal is one multifaceted star who has tried his hand at different genres ranging from singing, acting, directing, producing and writing, and excelled in it all. As a singer and actor, there are numerous projects that Gippy accomplished with great success. Even as a writer, director, and producer, he has given some great movies. He penned ‘Ardaas’ with Rana Ranbir and worked on its direction and production at the same time. He also produced ‘Manje Bistre’ and is currently working on this third venture ‘Mar Gaye Oye Loko’.

Neeru Bajwa has always been regarded as the queen of Pollywood. It’s not just because of her beauty or sheer talent, but also because she isn’t afraid to explore things beyond her comfort zone. Neeru didn’t stop at establishing herself as an actor but went on to explore opportunities in production and direction. ‘Channo Kamli Yaar Di’ was her debut movie as a producer. She put in a lot of effort into this movie that she even continued shooting while being eight months pregnant. Her hard work finally paid off when the movie did great business at the box office. Her second project as a producer was ‘Sargi’, which also marked her directorial debut, featured sister Rubina Bajwa in a lead role.

Coming from the theatre background, Rana Ranbir has always been a delight to watch on-screen. Right from playing a comical role to pulling off a serious character, he has shown his range as an actor. Not just this, Rana Ranbir has been the man behind various screenplays. He is also a well-established poet and published author. But if you think Rana limited himself to just writing and acting, the reality is tad different. With the release of ‘Asees’, he made his debut as a director. The movie was based on the strong and beautiful bond of a mother and son. It wasn’t a masala movie but an unconventional content-driven project that Rana brought on the big screen. All his efforts paid off well, as the audience enjoyed the movie.

Another Punjabi celebrity who didn’t tie herself down to acting is Mahie Gill. The diva has always been known for stealing the show whenever on camera. However, she always wanted to experience how things worked behind the camera, and thus, she tried her hand in production. The 2016 release ‘Aatishbaazi Ishq’, was her first movie as a producer. Starring Jimmy Sheirgill, the movie was a romantic-drama that was well received by the audience. Currently, Mahie is planning to produce a Hindi movie and is looking out for some fine-tuned scripts.
