Happy Birthday Sanjay Jadhav : Five must-watch films of the director

Sanjay Jadhav is an Indian film director in Bollywood and Marathi cinema, best known for 2013 film, 'Duniyadari' which was a box office success. Sanjay made his debut in direction with Marathi thriller 'Checkmate', Sanjay Jadhav is an Indian actor and director, who predominantly works in the Hindi and Marathi film industry. He followed it up with the hit 'Guru' in 2016. Apart from directing movies, Sanjay is also a popular cinematographer in the industry. He has worked on several Marathi and Hindi films like 'Saatchya Aat Gharat' (2004), Dombivali Fast (2005) and many more. On the occasion of his 50th birthday today, we bring you a rundown of five movies of which the actor was a part of that you should simply not miss!

'Duniyadari'

Sanjay Jadhav's directorial 'Duniyadari' has been acclaimed by Marathi audience. It had the highest collections at the box office as it ran for more than 100 days in Maharashtra. It starred Swapnil Joshi, Ankush Choudhary, Urmila Kanitkar, Sai Tamhankar, Jitendra Joshi, Sushant Shelar. The story focussed on how friendship doesn’t see the ways of the world and nor does it follow any set rules. It follows the heart and 'Duniyadari' is all about the journey of the heart – which can be arduous, but almost always fulfilling.

'Ye Re Ye Re Paisa'

This comedy-drama film directed by Sanjay Jadhav, stars Umesh Kamat, Siddharth Jadhav and Tejaswini Pandit, as leads. 'Ye Re Ye Re Paisa' is about three youngsters who aspire to become rich instantly. The plot of the movie manages to keep you engaged throughout. The film does not go flat and manages to keep the audience entertained throughout with witty punch lines. The Sanjay Jadhav directorial is star-studded and largely delivers on its promise of being a complete entertainer.

'Tu Hi Re'

The romantic-drama 'Tu Hi Re' was also directed by Sanjay Jadhav. 'Tu Hi Re' starred Swwapnil Joshi, Sai Tamhankar and Tejaswini Pandit in the leading roles. For this movie, Sai and Tejaswini recorded a song as playback singers for the first time. The film's plot was about how a heartbroken man marries another girl and leads a happy life until the past starts creating problems. The film has lots of emotional scenes and Sanjay has handled the situation very maturely. This film is worth watching.

'Luckee'

The Sanjay Jadhav's directorial 'Luckee' is a romantic comedy film which features stars like Abhay Mahajan and Deepti Sati in lead roles. The film revolves around Luckee (Abhay Mahajan), a college student, whose life is full of bad luck. He comes to Mumbai to study and falls in love with Jia (Deepti Sati). 'Luckee' is funny in parts and Jadhav has managed to pull off some good moments. The film has lots of comedy scenes and largely delivers on its promise of being a complete entertainer.

'Guru'

A Sanjay Jadhav directorial, 'Guru' gets full marks for evoking cheers and whistles from the masses. Marathi films are mostly known for strong content. There are films like these that break out to give viewers a purely entertaining experience. Chaudhary carries his acquired ‘superstar of Marathi cinema’ status quite well. The hero here is the large-hearted conman who has tricks ready to squeeze out of the most difficult situations. But when he witnesses the murder of an honest man at the hands of a corrupt businessman his world turns upside down and then his fight is worth the watch.
