The Marathi film, ‘Deool Band 2’ which hit the big screens on May 21 is enjoying a good run at the box office. The latest reports suggest that the movie has collected the Rs 40 crore mark in India, making it one of the biggest Marathi successes of recent times.
As per trade analyst Sacnilk, the live numbers suggest that ‘Deool Band 2’ on Day 10 that is today, has made over Rs 1.97 crore at the box office. It is currently running across 1,074 shows. This brings total India gross collections to Rs 41.47 crore and total India net to Rs 35.27 crore so far, with India final collections yet to be reported.
It is the first week itself, after a good response during the weekend the movie went on to collect Rs 30.20 crore.
Gaining popularity with word of mouth
The film has been receiving good support from family audiences and devotees. Positive word of mouth is also helping the movie maintain its collections even after more than a week in theatres.
Good Box office performance
The collections are expected to improve further during the weekend. Saturday and Sunday are likely to bring higher footfalls, which could give the film another strong boost at the ticket counters.
The second weekend is looking very promising for the film. It is expected that ‘Deool Band 2’ might earn around Rs 15 crore during its second weekend run.
If that happens, the movie will move close to the Rs 50 crore gross mark in India.
