Malayalis have proved their rebellious spirit yet again, and this time, the ones at the receiving end are none other than Pakistanis! In an episode which has been amusing more than anything else to all those who witnessed it, a group of Mohanlal fans hacked a few Pakistani websites, in retaliation to the recent hacking of Mohanlal’s official page by a group claiming to be Pakistanis. The hackers have called themselves the ‘Mallu Soldiers’ and posted their messages on three Pakistan-based websites, the official website of the National University of Modern Languages Lahore Campus among them. In true blue Malayali style, the hackers, with names like ‘Lottuloduk’ have posted a message in the ‘news and events’ scroll of the website thus — “ADOLF HITLER, LOTTUDUK AND USTAD HACKED THIS SITE AS A REVENGE TO YOUR FIRING AT KASHMIR. FIRST TAKE BACK THIS SITE THEN U TRY TO TAKE BACK OUR KASHMIR. BY MALLUS...” They have also replaced the pictures on the homepage with those supporting India, with threatening messages similar to Mohanlal’s hit film dialogues in Malayalam! In another website, pictures of Mohanlal, including his Aduthoma avatar, have been posted. Joel Joseph, a member of a Facebook Fans Association of the actor, says that he is not aware who exactly did the hacking but that it has been done in revenge.
“The group from Pakistan targeted Lalettan’s page first, and posted pro-Pakistan messages. But the website was restored immediately. The Pakistanis have not been able to restore their websites yet. We still don’t know why they chose a Malayalam actor’s site for it, probably because Mohanlal holds an honorary Lt Colonel rank in the Indian Territorial Army. Meanwhile, indignant fans of the actor have taken to the virtual world to express their rage. “We are Malayalis, who made The New York Times apologise, hacking a Pakistani website is child’s play to us,’’ said a comment. Mohanlal hasn’t commented yet on the issue though he has reportedly filed a police case against the hacking of his website.
