This continues a tradition stemming from his role in 'Sarfarosh,' which inspired many officers. Khan is also experiencing a career resurgence with his latest film, 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' and is set to appear in the upcoming action thriller 'Coolie'.

When a video surfaced online showing a bus escorted by police vehicles exiting Aamir Khan’s Bandra residence, it instantly triggered speculation. Many were quick to assume something was wrong.However, Aamir Khan’s team stepped forward to clarify that the visitors were not investigators or enforcement personnel but in fact probationary IPS officers. Around 25 trainee officers had simply requested a meeting with the actor, and Aamir graciously hosted them at his home. The actor's team also confirmed to News 18 that the visit was pre-planned and had no other implication.


Aamir’s bond with IPS trainees isn’t new

This isn’t the first time Aamir Khan has welcomed IPS trainees. His 1999 action film 'Sarfarosh,' in which he played an upright and idealistic police officer, still gets much love from the fans. Following its release, several IPS probationers expressed their admiration for the role and had even met the actor, said the team.

Since then, Aamir has regularly hosted similar meetings, offering insight into the character and encouraging young officers. His portrayal left a lasting impression on generations of police trainees, and these interactions have become something of a traditio, they added.

'Sitaare Zameen Par’ and the biggest comeback

The warm gesture comes as Aamir Khan enjoys a strong box office comeback. His recent release, 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' a sports comedy drama, marked the comeback of 'Mr. Perfectionist,' who was in a difficult phase in his career, with both 'Thugs of Hindostan' and 'Laal Singh Chaddha' underperforming. Looking ahead, he will next be seen in 'Coolie,' the Tamil action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Rajinikanth in the lead. 'Coolie' will hit the big screens on August 14, and the expectations are quite high. Apart from Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan, the film also features Soubin Shahir, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, and Upendra in pivotal roles.
