Lal Jose has always been a supporter of
Dileep, right from their days together, back in the 90s.
Even after Dileep's arrest, Lal Jose continued to believe that Dileep is innocent. However, the director's facebook post on Thursday supporting Dileep's movie Ramaleela, which released today, and Dileep himself, hasn't gone down very well with his followers. Cinemakkoppam, Avanodoppam, he posted, indicating that not only was he trying to support cinema as an industry, like many others did, but Dileep himself as well.
He has faced a lot of criticism since, with many commenting that they too were with him, but decided to change once they found that he was not the person they thought he was.
Teacher and writer Deepa Nishanth wrote that supporting cinema is well and good, but expressing publicly one's support for an accused like Dileep is like mocking at the assaulted actress.
Lal Jose also shared reports about Ramaleela's success.
