'Drishyam 3' star Mohanlal pens a heartfelt birthday note for daughter Vismaya: 'A beautiful new beginning'

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal shared an emotional birthday message for his daughter Vismaya Mohanlal as she prepares to step into cinema. Taking to Instagram, the actor posted an adorable picture of Vismaya, affectionately called Maya, and wrote a heartwarming birthday wish.Sharing the picture of 'Thudakkam' actress, proud father Mohanlal wrote, "Happy Birthday dearest Mayakutty. This year marks a beautiful new beginning... new dreams taking shape and your journey into cinema unfolding." Continuing his message, Mohanlal mentioned the qualities he admires most in his daughter. Love, Acha @mayamohanlal," Vismaya Mohanlal is set to make her acting debut with the upcoming Malayalam film 'Thudakkam'. The project is written and directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, known for his work in 2018: Everyone Is A Hero, and 'Ohm Shanthi Oshaana'.Before entering films, Vismaya had already made a mark as a writer. She published her book Grains of Stardust. Meanwhile, her brother Pranav Mohanlal has already established himself as a versatile actor with his performances in 'Hridayam', and the recently released horror thriller 'Dies Irae'.Earlier in 2025, at the 'Thudakkam' pooja ceremony, Mohanlal opened up about his emotions and the unexpected nature of his children entering films.He said: “Everything that has happened in my life, I consider it a vismayam (wonder). I never once thought that my children would enter cinema. I never had a dream to act in films either. It just happened, as if destined by time.”He added: “Years ago, when I came into cinema, there were no such ceremonies. You just came, acted, and that was it,”'Drishyam' actor also spoke proudly about his children’s talents: “Appu was selected as best actor in school, and Maya too has acted in several plays and won awards,” On the work front, Mohanlal recently made an announcement regarding 'Drishyam 2'. The film, which earlier skipped a theatrical release due to the pandemic, is now set to hit the big screen on April 10. Meanwhile, 'Drishyam 3' will release on May 21.
