‘Balan: The Boy’ trailer: Chidambaram’s emotional thriller shows a mother and son fleeing a dark past

The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, ‘Balan – The Boy,’ directed by Chidambaram unveiled the film's trailer. On Friday, the team gave a look into the film’s world which is set to be an emotional and suspense-filled journey.Speaking about the trailer, it begins with a young boy secretly getting into a vehicle. Soon after, the child’s mother is introduced; she is a woman who seems to be hiding her and her child’s real identity.As the trailer moves forward, it becomes clear that the mother and son are living on the run. The woman is shown using different names, including Mary Luca and Sherly. At one point, she introduces her son as Abhijeet Kumar.The trailer suggests that she carries a painful past and is doing everything possible to keep her child safe. A part of the 2-minute 30-second video also reveals the young boy asking his mother if his grandmother will hurt them. At the same time, police officers are seen searching for the pair. The reason behind the chase remains a mystery.The trailer also drops a major clue about the boy’s connection to a murder case. It hints that he could be an important witness or even a suspect. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on June 19.
