Rakkasapuradol eyes a fresh take on thrillers: Ravi Varma

Directed by debutant Ravi Saranga, Kannada thriller Rakkasapuradol stars Raj B Shetty in the lead, with music by Arjun Janya. Produced by filmmaker, actor and stunt choreogra pher K Ravi Varma under the KN Enter prises banner, the film is set to hit thea tres on Friday, February 6. “When I was directing Rustum, Ravi Saranga was part of my team and had shared a few lines from a story,” says Varma. “I encouraged him to develop it into a full script and de cided to produce it. I was surprised whenhe said Raj B Shetty was on board, as this is his first time playing a charac ter rooted in the Malavalli region of Mandya.” For Ravi Varma, Rakkasapuradol has been about balancing creative collabora tion with technical precision. Despite handling multiple responsibilities, he in sists there were no compromises on ac tion or production values. “I choreographed the stunts myself, but being the producer never meant cutting corners,” he says. “We used the best re sources available. There’s a perception that Malayalam cinema is ahead of us — this film aims to challenge that and keep audiences engaged throughout,” he adds.
