Here us a list of a new crop of musicians are carrying forward the musical legacy from their parents or spouses or siblings.
It’s all about loving your family holds absolutely true for Bollywood. Being a close knit industry, Bollywood filmi families have always been there for each other. And music is no exception either. Be it the legacy of the Burmans or the late Mukesh and Nitin Mukesh to Kishore Kumar and Amit Kumar and Sumit Kumar, they have all hit the recording studios one generation after the other. Now a new crop of musicians are carrying forward the musical legacy from their parents/spouses/siblings. Here’s a look...Bhushan Kumar - Tulsi KumarDebut: Shab-e-Firaaq, Chup Chup Ke, 2006First big hit: Title song of Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, 2006Daughter of T-Series head the late Gulshan Kumar and producer Bhushan Kumar’ sister, Tulsi recently fulfilled her dream of singing in Aashiqui 2. Although, Tulsi has been singing for a long time, she’s making headlines with Aashiqui 2. And Alyssa Mendonsa knows it well. Clinjon Cerejo - Dominique CerejoDebut: Hindustani, Dus, 1997First big hit: Dhoom Again, Dhoom 2, 2006Wife to music arranger/producer Clinton Cerejo, who has been associated with SEL (Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy) for long, Dominique made her singing debut in the shelved Sanjay Dutt-Salman Khan starrer Dus. But Yeh Tumhari Meri Baatien from Rock On!(composed by SEL) that brought her into the mainstream. Though she hasn’t sung many songs since then, Clinton and Dominique have been performing together for a long now.Anu Malik - Anmol MalikDebut: Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Na Kijo, Umrao Jaan, 2006First big hit: Talli, Ugly Aur Pagli, 2008Anu Malik is no newcomer to the music industry, and it was only about a matter of time that his children entered Bollywood too. And so did his daughter Anmol Malik. Debuting at seven with Mujhe Maaf Karna (Biwi No. 1) composed by daddy Anu Malik, Anmol’s biggest hit came in 2008 with Talli (Ugly Aur Pagli) as Mallika Sherawat gyrated to her voice. Though Anmol hasn’t been too active on the playback singing front since then, her latest song Nagin (Bajatey Raho) is sure creating ripples.
