Saeed Jaffrey as Kunj Bihari

Saeed Jaffrey played an important role of Naren’s (Rajiv Kapoor) uncle, Kunj Bihari, in the 1985 film, Ram Teri Ganga Maili. He played the link between Naren and Ganga (Mandakini) and was successful in making the two unite at last. His role was widely appreciated and even won him a nomination for the Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category. The excellence with which he played a serious character was appreciated.

Saeed Jaffrey played the role of Khan Baba in the 1991 film, Henna. Seen as gypsy girl, Henna’s father, in the film, Saeed was nominated for the Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category. Another one of his wonderful performances, Saeed had an emotional role in the film, which he essayed with perfection. He was the first Asian to receive British and Canadian Academy Awards nominations besides being the first Indian to receive the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions to drama.

Saeed Jaffrey was seen as shopkeeper, Lallan Miyan, in the 1989 superhit film, Chashme Buddoor. Lallan used to sell cigarettes to the three friends - Siddharth (Farooq Shaikh), Omi (Rakesh Bedi) and Jomo (Ravi Baswani) but on credit. He later pesters them to clear all their dues. Saeed Jaffrey was one of the finest comic actors in Bollywood and could make any role unique with his subtle mannerisms and amazing comic timing.
