Actors who could not make it big despite having Bollywood connection

The concept of ‘Nepotisim’ sparked a major debate in Bollywood last year. While it is very much prevalent, not always has proved beneficial for everyone. Stars try their level best to launch their family members and give them an easy way in. However, this does not prove to be a bed of roses for all of them. While this bloodline formula seems to have worked for some, it is drastically failed for some others. Here we give you a rundown of actors who could not make it big in the showbiz despite having Bollywood connection.
2/10

Uday Chopra

Being born in one of the esteemed families of Bollywood, Uday Chopra had a comparatively closer view of the world of showbiz. Son of Yash Chopra and brother of Aditya Chopra, Uday made a grand entry into Bollywood with the multi-starrer ‘Mohabbatein’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and others.

Between ‘Mohabbatein’ and his last outing ‘Dhoom 3’, he made his presence felt in many films but he failed to make an impression. The actor has been away from the spotlight for a long time now. He is mostly in news for his alleged affair with Bollywood beauty Nargis Fakhri.
3/10

Fardeen Khan

Fardeen Khan is the son of Feroz Khan and son-in-law of yesteryear actress Mumtaz. However, his connections did not get him the stardom he desired. The actor made his debut in Bollywood with the 1998 film ‘Prem Aggan’ opposite Meghna Kothari.

The actor received positive reviews from the audience and critics for the film. He even received a Filmfare award in the Best Actor Male Debut category. After that, he went on to star in films that did decently well at the box-office but even those films couldn’t do much for the actor’s career as most of them were multi-starrers. He has notable films like ‘Jungle’, Pyar Tune Kya Kiya and others to his credit.

The actor has been missing the silver screen for a long time now.
4/10

Mahaakshay Chakraborty

Son of the ‘Disco Dancer’ of Bollywood, Mithun Chakraborty, Mahaakshay aka Mimoh made his debut in Hindi films with ‘Jimmy’ in 2008. Although he starred in a number of films after that, there was nothing that made an impression on the audience.

In 2011, he featured in Haunted - 3D, which was the first Indian stereoscopic 3D horror film. He has also featured in films like Loot, co-starring Govinda and Suniel Shetty. The actor was last seen in ‘Ishqedarriyaan’ opposite Evelyn Sharma in 2015.
5/10

Tanishaa Mukerji

Coming from a family where both her mother and elder sister were superstars, Tanishaa Mukerji had huge boots to fill. The actress debuted in 2005 as a leading lady in ‘Neal and Nikki’ opposite Uday Chopra. However, the film did not do much for her as far as her career in films was concerned.

Even though Tanishaa made her presence felt every now and then in films like ‘Sarkar’ and ‘Tango Charlie’, she sadly did not have much to offer to her audience.

She was last known for her stint in a television reality show Bigg Boss and her alleged affair with Armaan Kohli.
6/10

Shamita Shetty

Sister of popular Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, Shamita did not have a successful run at Bollywood. Originally an interior designer, she turned to acting and made her debut along with Uday Chopra in the multi-starrer ‘Mohabbatein’ starring actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and others.

Although she does not have many films to her credit, she was appreciated for her roles in films like ‘Zeher’, ‘Cash’ and ‘Bewafa’.
7/10

Esha Deol

Born to Bollywood Bollywood actors Hema Malini and Dharmendra, Esha Deol had an easy entry into the film industry. She made her debut with the 2002 film ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe’ which also features actors like Aftab Shivdasani, Sanjay Kapoor and Jaya Bachchan in pivotal roles.

Although she featured in a number of films in the course of her career so far, nothing made her career graph go upwards. The actress who got married in 2012 and gave birth to a baby girl named ‘Radhya’ last year.

She is currently in news for her upcoming comeback short film titled ‘Cakewalk’ to be directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee and Abhra Chakraborty.
8/10

Harman Baweja

It would not be completely wrong to say that Harman Baweja had everything but sheer luck. Born to director Harry Baweja and Pammi Baweja, the star kid grew up to look like Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. With good looks and physique, the actor came in with a lot of hope in the industry.

He debuted in Bollywood with none other than Priyanka Chopra in 2008 film ‘Love Story 2050’, directed by his father. However, apart from his Hrithik-like look and dance moves, nothing seemed to have impressed the audience.

Although Harman went on to do films like ‘What’s Your Rashee?’, ‘Dishkiyaoon’ and ‘Chaar Sahibzaade’, none of these seem to have worked for the actor.
9/10

Jackky Bhagnani

Son of producer Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani made his foray into Bollywood with ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’. Although he was a part of various films like ‘F.A.L.T.U’, ‘Ajab Gazabb Love’, ‘Youngistaan’ and ‘Welcome To Karachi’, nothing made his career shoot up and is still considered as a moderately successful actor in Bollywood.

The actor was last seen in his short film ‘Carbon’ also starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Prachi Desai and Yashpal Sharma in pivotal roles.
10/10

Adhyayan Suman

Son of popular television personality and Bollywood actor Shekhar Suman and wife Alka Suman, Adhyayan Suman too had not-so-happening run in the film industry. The star son debuted with ‘Haal-E-Dil’ in 2008.

He then went on to do films like ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’, ‘Jashnn’ and others. However, none seemed to have worked for the actor. Father Shekhar also turned director for him in ‘Heartless’. However, the film tanked badly at the box-office.

Adhyayan recently made his singing debut with an album last year which was titled, ‘Saareyan Nu Chaddeya’.

He was majorly in the news for his alleged affair and split with the ‘Queen’ star Kangana Ranaut.
