Boman Irani as Dr. Asthana – Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003)

While Circuit brought the street-smart charm and comic relief, Boman Irani made us both laugh and terrified the audience as the eccentric dean with a haunting laugh, Dr. Asthana. Dr. Asthana is strict, somewhat weirdly funny, and just turned out to be bizarrely relatable to anyone who's dealt with intimidating school principals in their lifetime.

2/5

Arshad Warsi as Circuit—Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003)

Let’s be honest: Munna Bhai would not have been Munna Bhai without Circuit. Arshad Warsi turned the role of the loyal, street-smart, funny sidekick into one of Bollywood's most cherished characters. His slang, style, and "bhai ka emotion" made him the heart of the franchise.

3/5

Johnny Lever—Comic Royalty

Johnny Lever's comedic genius appeared in films like 'Baazigar,' where he played Babulal, the forgetful servant in Madan Chopra's household. He demonstrated his flair for comedy in 'Dulhe Raja,' where he displayed evidence of comic timing as a bumbling hotel manager named Bankey, and in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,' he was Almeida, the unusual camp manager. As Pappi Bhai in 'Golmaal 3,' he also provided many memorable moments.

4/5

Pankaj Tripathi as Sultan – Gangs of Wasseypur Series

While Dr. Asthana and the supporting actors were wacky and over-the-top, Sultan's understated figure was unshakeable, a man of only a few words, but in that moment, you could feel it from afar—he had a depth of menace behind his eyes, posture, and composed presence. Pankaj Tripathi was a lesson in minimalistic acting and left the audience pondering, or perhaps aghast, with his performance and connection with the role.

5/5

Saurabh Shukla as Justice Tripathi – Jolly LLB (2013)

His chai-loving, sarcastic judge made courtroom scenes incredibly entertaining. With a poker face and killer one-liners, he made legal drama fun.
