When Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja was spotted with son Yashvardhan on Valentine’s Eve: ‘Sir apne valentine ke saath hai’
Bollywood star Govinda married Sunita Ahuja in 1987, and the couple has shared a long journey of love and companionship ever since. They are parents to two children — daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardhan Ahuja. Over the years, their relationship has often made headlines, especially for Sunita’s candid and witty remarks.
During Valentine’s week, a video resurfaced in which Sunita was spotted with her son Yashvardhan on the eve of the celebration.
During the interaction, photographers asked about Govinda. Sunita responded in her usual playful style, “Sir apne valentine ke saath hai.”
She then quickly clarified, “Aisa waisa kuch mat samajhna. Wo apne kaam se bohot pyaar karte hai na, to kaam unka valentine hai.” Her candid and humorous response made the moment memorable.
Their relationship faced minor challenges, including family concerns over their love letters. However, Govinda’s mother supported their bond and reportedly told him, “Tu isi se shaadi karega.”
The couple eventually tied the knot in a private ceremony in 1987 and continues to remain one of Bollywood’s most talked-about pairs.
Govinda later shared his perspective in an interview with ANI. He said, “I left politics for my family as I did not want political life to hamper my family life and have an adverse effect on them — especially my children. So I stepped out of politics."
He further added, “Maine Nadiadwala se kaha, toh he gave his guidance to Yash kaise filmein banayi jati hain, kaam kiya jata hai. (I asked Nadiadwala to guide my son, and he helped him learn different aspects of filmmaking).”

Their love story and early relationship
Sunita once revealed that she fell for Govinda at a young age. She shared, "I used to stay at my sister's house and my jijaji was Govinda's mama. We used to dance together. I was married at 18 and had Tina when I was 19. If you ask Govinda, he'll say I trapped him in a child marriage," she joked. The couple eventually tied the knot in a private ceremony in 1987 and continues to remain one of Bollywood’s most talked-about pairs.
Debate over not helping son Yashvardhan’s career
Recently, Sunita expressed disappointment over Govinda’s role in supporting their son’s career. In an interview with Miss Malini, she said, “Yash is a self-made boy. He hasn’t taken help from his father. He has given 90 auditions, being Govinda’s son. He didn’t ask Govinda to call anyone. Govinda also never helped Yash. I told Govinda on his face, ‘tu baap hai ki kya hai if you won’t help our kids, who will?’ See Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, how they all are supporting their sons. I told Govinda that he has to support his son, but I don’t understand his thinking. The circle he is around with is so bad, I don’t know what they teach him. His own career is ruined.”Govinda later shared his perspective in an interview with ANI.
