When Emraan Hashmi revealed why he married Parveen Shahani: 'She saw my idiosyncrasies and issues'

Emraan Hashmi has long been admired for choosing roles that break the mould, and he is once again earning praise for his performance in Neeraj Pandey’s web series 'Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web.' While his work continues to draw attention, fans have also remained curious about his personal life, particularly his enduring relationship with his wife, Parveen Shahani.

After being together for several years, Emraan and Parveen tied the knot in 2006. Four years later, they welcomed their son, Ayaan Hashmi. In a recent conversation, the actor reflected on how he came to realise that Parveen was the partner he wanted to build his life with.




In an earlier interview, Emraan opened up about the foundation of their marriage and the journey that led them there. He said on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, “I think the friendship went on for many years, for 10 years. Then you know that this is my kind of person. I want to settle with them. What happens in relationships is that sometimes there is a honeymoon phase, where you are putting your best foot forward and not seeing the actual person because there is a version of themselves that they are projecting in that relationship. When you cross that thing and you see the person for who they are. I think we reached that point. She saw my idiosyncrasies and issues I had and vice versa and my positives and her positives. We felt this was the right time,” he shared.

On the professional front, Emraan is currently being appreciated for 'Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web', a series that dives into the high-stakes world of international smuggling.
