Vicky Kaushal opens up fatherhood after welcoming baby boy with Katrina Kaif: ' I can’t put into words, and I wasn’t prepared for'

It's been a great year for Vicky Kaushal, personally and professionally both. This year, he gave a huge hit like 'Chhaava' which is also called his 'career best' performance by many. After getting immense accolades for the role, Vicky then moved to shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Love And War' with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. As far as his personal life is concerned, Vicky and Katrina Kaif became parents to a baby boy this year, on November 7. The couple took to social media and shared, " “Our bundle of joy has arrived. With immense love and gratitude, we welcome our baby boy. 7th November 2025."

In a recent interview, Vicky has now opened up on fatherhood. When asked how he has changed after becoming a parent, Vicky said in an interview with GQ, "It is too soon to analyse. Every day, a new emotion hits. You surrender to this in a way you’ve never surrendered to anything." Describing the experience further, he called it “a grounding experience."




Opening up about how unprepared he was for the emotional shift, Vicky added, “It’s a feeling I can’t put into words, and I wasn’t prepared for." He also revealed how difficult it has been to step away from his newborn, recalling a rare outing he made for a party. “For the entire time that I was there, I kept feeling something pulling me back," he said, before reflecting, “Your centre just changes. It’s kind of beautiful."

Meanwhile, at the red carpet of an event, Vicky was asked by paps what his baby boy's name. He was asked by the paps, 'Bete ka naam kya rakha hai? (What have you named your baby boy)?'. This made Vicky blush and how! He further smiled and said, 'batata hu (I'll tell soon)."

Katrina and Vicky tied the knot on December 9, 2021. The couple recently celebrated their fourth anniversary and this year, it was special with the arrival of their baby boy. Vicky has shared first picture with Katrina post the baby. Expressing their feelings, he wrote, "Celebrating today… blissful, grateful and sleep deprived. Happy 4 to us. ❤️"

On work front, Vicky is currently shooting for 'Love And War' which is set for release next year.
