This Shah Rukh Khan film was released incomplete and earned just Rs 57 lakh, becoming one of the biggest flops of his career

The film, 'Ye Lamhe Judaai Ke' was originally initiated in 1993 with Raveena Tandon playing opposite the leading actor, Shah Rukh Khan. The film was dished by Birendra Nath Tiwari, and it was declared to be entitled 'Jadoo' or 'Magic'. Most of the film was shot by 1994, but the project floundered due to various financial and logistical issues, thus leading to an ordeal of being shelved for almost a decade, the product starts and stops culminating in an unfinished film.

As per Hindustan Times, ‘Ye Lamhe Judaai Ke’, was originally launched in 1993 with Raveena Tandon opposite Shah Rukh. Directed by Birendra Nath Tiwari, it was initially titled ‘Jadoo’. Though most of the shooting wrapped up by 1994, financial and production troubles forced the project into a long hiatus, leaving it incomplete for nearly a decade.

By 2004, Shah Rukh Khan had established himself as the leading actor in Indian cinema with success at the box office with hits like 'Mohabbatein', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Devdas', 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', and 'Main Hoon Na'. During this same time, the obscure film 'Ye Lamhe Judaai Ke' was revamped. It was now going to have new actors, including a youthful Rashami Desai added as part of a reworked script that filled in lost content.

Shah Rukh Khan, nor Raveena Tandon, dubbed or promoted the film. The incomplete story and its disjointed editing showed the film's problematic story. The film received a nationwide release on April 9, 2004 against the comedy hit 'Masti'.

'Ye Lamhe Judaai Ke' became Shah Rukh Khan's greatest commercial failure. It earned just ₹13 lakh at the box office on the opening day, while his previous films 'Veer-Zaara' and 'Main Hoon Na' grossed over ₹2.5 crores apiece. The end result for the film was around ₹57 lakh at box office records in India and about ₹1 crore worldwide.

Years later, Shah Rukh acquired the digital and cable rights of several 1990s films under his banner, Red Chillies Entertainment. ‘Ye Lamhe Judaai Ke’ was among them and is now available on Amazon Prime Video. Despite its availability, fans and critics often refer to it as the one film “even SRK would like to forget.”
