Salman Khan once recalled 'Dholi Taro' from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam with Aishwarya Rai, calling it his 'biggest memory of…'
Salman Khan once took a trip down memory lane as he spoke about his song 'Dholi Taro' from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam with Aishwraya Rai. The iconic dance numberis still one of the most popular navratri songs.
At the trailer launch of Aayush Sharma's Loveyatri, the superstar was asked about his favourite Navratri memory. He immediately replied, “My biggest memory of Navratri is Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Dholi Taro.” The film starred him opposite Aishwarya, who was also allegedly his girlfriend at the time.
Salman and Aishwarya’s romance reportedly began during the filming of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and quickly grabbed media attention. It was intense and passionate, but also turbulent, ending in 2001 amid public controversies. Yet, decades later, their moments on set remain memorable in Bollywood history.
In a recent conversation with Vickey Lalwani, ad-filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar talked about Salman's obsession with Aishwarya. He shared, "He had been very physical with her and obsessive. How do you deal with somebody like that?"
He further added, "I knew because I was living in the same building. He used to make scenes in the foyer, would bang his head on the wall. The relationship had ended long before it officially ended. It was a relief for everyone, her parents, her, the whole world."
In the same interview, Prahlad also recalled how the breakup took a toll on Aishwarya's emotional health and profession. He added, "She wasn’t upset about the breakup. She was upset that everybody took Salman’s side and not hers. The truth was on her side. She didn’t trust the industry anymore because it wasn’t playing fair. I could understand if she was wrong and the other party was right, or if both sides were treated equally. But nothing, it was completely one-sided."
