Doctors reveal medical details on Salim Khan
On February 18, Dr. Jalil Parkar addressed the media outside the hospital and explained the situation. He confirmed that Salim Khan had suffered a minor brain haemorrhage but responded well to treatment. “There was a minimal brain haemorrhage. A procedure called DSA was done this morning. No surgery was required. He is still on a ventilator. Hopefully, by tomorrow, he will be off the ventilator. Keeping in mind the age, the time of recovery is longer. He’s fine, he’s stable… All in all, he’s doing quite well,” the doctor stated.
Why was Salim Khan put on a ventilator?
Dr. Parkar clarified that ventilator support was used as a precaution rather than due to critical deterioration.
“After initial diagnosis and medication, we realised he needed ICU care. We put him on the ventilator because we wanted to do certain investigations… as a safeguard so that he doesn’t worsen,” he explained, adding that reports describing the situation as critical were inaccurate.
