Rapper Raftaar issues clarification on Rajkummar Rao and Keerthy Suresh's film; says, ''Raftaar' is not about me'

Rapper Raftaar took to his social media to clarify that the upcoming film titled 'Raftaar' is not related to him. It all started after the makers announced the film featuring Rajkummar Rao and Keerthy Suresh. Fans wondered if the movie is based on the life of the rapper. On Monday, Raftaar took to his Instagram Story to respond to the fan speculation. He congratulated the team for the project and clarified that the film has nothing to do with him. He wrote, "I have nothing to do with the movie, but I want to congratulate the creators and thank them for algorithm rotation. Win-win." Directed by Aditya Nimbalkar, the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 24, 2026. Along with Rajkummar Rao and Keerthy Suresh, the film also features Rajat Kapoor, Rohan Verma, Tanya Maniktala, and Anurag Thakur in pivotal roles. This will be the first time Rajkummar Rao and Keerthy Suresh are set to share screenspace. The movie is reportedly about the rivalry in the startup environment. Apart from 'Raftaar', Rajkummar Rao will be starring in a biopic based on the former Indian cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly. He will also feature in the biographical drama of public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. He has another movie in the pipeline, titled 'Toaster', co-starring Sanya Malhotra.On the other hand, Keerthy Suresh, who marked her Bollywood debut with Varun Dhawan's 'Baby John', has several films lined up ahead. She has multiple projects in the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam industries.The actress has 'Kannivedi', a Tamil tech thriller, in the pipeline. She is also working on the Hindi web show named 'Akka', the Malayalam action adventure 'Thottam', and reportedly a Telugu project co-starring Vijay Deverakonda. She has another Tamil project named 'Revolver Rita'.
