Priya Kapur makes big move; attends business meeting amid legal feud with Karisma Kapoor’s kids
Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, businessman Sunjay Kapur, passed away unexpectedly in June, triggering a fierce family dispute over his estate, estimated at around Rs 30,000 crore. Amidst the legal battle, Priya Sachdev Kapur is now in the spotlight as the key representative of his corporate legacy.

Priya attends business meetings

As reported by the TOI business desk, on Thursday, Priya attended a key meeting of the Auto Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) in New Delhi. She was specially invited in her role as director of Aureus Investment (AIPL), the family investment office that holds the promoter stake in Sona Comstar."She was a special invitee to the executive committee meeting after being called for the event by ACMA president Vikrampati Singhania," a source said.

Priya to shoulder responsibility?

Her presence at the meeting is seen as symbolically important, positioning her as the main representative of Sunjay’s estate. At the closed-door session, Priya told industry leaders, “She would be happy to shoulder any responsibility that the industry body entrusts her with.”

Family feud over Kapur estate control

Priya’s corporate move has come amid the Kapur family's bitter feud since Sunjay’s passing in June. Earlier, Priya’s appointments as director of both AIPL and Sona Comstar had been challenged by Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, and his sister, Mandhira Kapur.
They claim that by taking control of these key positions, Priya has taken over the family’s wealth. Rani alleged that Priya “had usurped Sunjay's estate, leaving her with nothing.”

Karisma files a legal case for the children’s share

The dispute has further intensified with Karisma Kapoor seeking legal intervention for the benefit of her two children from her marriage with Sunjay. According to ANI, the children filed a civil case alleging that Priya “tried to forge their father’s will to take full control of his property.”With Karisma acting as their legal guardian, they are asking the court to divide the estate fairly, provide a complete list of assets, and prevent any changes or sales. Karisma and Sunjay married in 2003 but divorced in 2016.

Court orders full disclosure of Kapur assets

The Delhi High Court directed Priya on September 10 to disclose all movable and immovable assets belonging to Sunjay as of June 12, the day he tragically passed away during a polo match in the UK.
