From a wealthy stand-up comic in

TVF Tripling,
Maanvi Gagroo has played characters that feel authentic and emotionally grounded. She speaks to Goa Times about navigating the OTT boom and her enduring love for Goa.
Getting into character For Maanvi, picking a role is an instinctive yet thoughtful process. “The script, the character, my contribution to the story, the team involved—and the excitement of playing someone new—all matter,” she says.
Switching between roles, especially across multiple seasons, takes effort. One of her personal tricks? Fragrance. “Perfumes instantly pull me back into the world of a project. I also revisit scripts and my notes—they’re my quick way back into the character’s headspace,” she shares.
OTT and evolving pressures While OTT platforms have eased box-office pressure, Maanvi feels the scrutiny remains. “Series are still judged on numbers, reviews and word of mouth,” she says. “But the upside is the variety—we now have access to stories from across the world, across genres. There’s so much creative room,” adds Maanvi, who has her film Heer Sara lined up and also begins work on a new series this March.
Why Goa never gets old Recalling her time in Goa while shooting Four More Shots Please! “Goa is slow but never, dull relaxed yet alive.”
Despite countless visits, the experience never feels repetitive. “No two trips are the same, but it always feels familiar. I recently ate at a tiny place in Penha de Franc— no frills, incredible food. I love the culture, the music, the easy rhythm of life here," she says.
