Mohit Suri celebrates as Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur film ‘Aashiqui 2’ clocks 13 years: 'Every silence, every tear'

Mohit Suri recently celebrated 13 years of his 2013 blockbuster ‘Aashiqui 2’, featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. The film not only achieved major box-office success but also propelled both actors to widespread fame, while its songs have remained timeless, continuing to dominate playlists even years later.On Sunday (April 26), Mohit took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes glimpses from ‘Aashiqui 2’ along with a heartfelt note,"Celebrating 13 years of Aashiqui 2, some films don’t just get made… they make you... Every moment on set… every silence, every tear, every note of music…felt like something we were living,not just creating. Years have passed…but the echoes haven't."The director also mentioned that the list of people he wants to thank is endless, far more than he could ever name, but each of them lives on through the film. He shared that he feels immense gratitude for the love the film has received and for how it continues to resonate with audiences even now. "Some love stories don't end. They just keep playing… on a loop, somewhere in the heart," Mohit wrote.‘Aashiqui 2’ also featured a notable supporting cast including Shaad Randhawa, who played Vivek, Rahul Jaykar’s close friend and manager, Mahesh Thakur as Saigal, a music label head instrumental in Aarohi’s career, and Salil Acharya as Aryan.Mohit Suri last directed the 2025 film ‘Saiyaara’, which marked Ahaan Panday’s acting debut and featured Aneet Padda in her first leading role.
