The makers of 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri' have remixed the iconic 'Saat Samundar Paar' for their film. However, this new version of the song faced backlash from the internet as people thought that the OG version which is so iconic, has just been ruined. The original song is from Rajeev Rai's film 'Vishwatma' and featured Sunny Deol, Divya Bharti. It is
Viju Shah's composition and the lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi. The original version was sung by Sadhna Sargam. There was also a separate male version of the song by Udit Narayan which had Chunky Panday. Now the veteran lyricist's son took to Instagram and slammed the new remixed version of the song. He also spoke about the credits.
On Wednesday, Anand Bakshi’s son Rakesh Anand Bakshi took to Instagram to voice his displeasure after noticing that the remix credits listed both Anand Bakshi and Karan Nawani as lyricists. According to him, Nawani has only contributed a few additional lines and should not be placed on equal footing with the original writer.
Sharing a screenshot of the credits, Rakesh wrote, “The producer and or publisher should not claim credit for any writer singer etc as co-lyricist for adding one or two lines to the original lyrics; Like they've put original/additional music in the credits, they could have done it with the lyrics too. This is the format which is currently used in streaming Platforms. They need to reform it. ASAP. It's 2025 today. Not 25 CE that they can't effect reform ASAP.”
He also tagged music label Saregama and the singer, urging streaming platforms to clearly separate original creators from those who have made minor additions.
Further expressing his disappointment, Rakesh added, “ORIGINAL CREATORS Anand Bakshi, Viju Shah. (I APPRECIATE THE SINGER HAS RECOMPOSED IT SLOWER, AND SUNG IT WELL, BUT I DO NOT APPRECIATE THE LYRICS HE RECREATED, THEY ARE NOT IN KEEPING WITH THE THOUGHT BEHIND THE EARLIER VERSE, ITS A MISMATCH, BREAKS THE CONTINUITY OF THE EARLIER VERSE.”
Directed by Sameer Vidwans, ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ stars Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and is set to release on December 25.
