Harleen Sethi opens up about being labeled Vicky Kaushal's ex: 'I have an identity of my own'

Harleen Sethi had found herself in the spotlight as she was frequently referred to as Vicky Kaushal's ex rather than her own professional accomplishments. The label emerged following their breakup. Harleen and Vicky, who was then a rising star in Bollywood, began dating in the early years of his career. However, despite their once-public romance, the couple parted ways, leading to a media focus on their personal lives. Harleen addressed the ongoing tendency of being referred to as Vicky's ex-girlfriend.

In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Harleen expressed her desire to be recognized for her own achievements and identity rather than being constantly associated with Vicky Kaushal. She emphasized her multifaceted personality and how it transcends the singular label of being someone's ex. "Even in my Instagram bio, I have written 'I am,' there is nothing more," she stated, showing her quest for individuality.

Harleen elaborated on her stance by describing the different roles she plays in life. "I call myself a general and I don't even recognize myself only as an actor. I am all of it: I am an actor, I am a sister, I am a friend, I am a confident woman, I am a fearless woman or I am a scared woman. It's 'I am'... that's what I need," she explained. By doing so, she highlighted the importance of viewing individuals as a whole, with diverse attributes and experiences.

Both Harleen and Vicky have moved on from their breakup, which occurred after the success of Uri: The Surgical Strike. Vicky is now happily married to Katrina Kaif, while Harleen appears to have found love with actor Vaibhav Raj Gupta.
