Bobby Deol reveals it was love at first sight for wife Tanya: 'She didn't give me any attention, but I still chased her'

Bobby Deol, once hailed as Bollywood’s heartthrob, experienced soaring success following his debut. However, after 2004, a string of box office failures, despite his critically acclaimed performances, marked a challenging phase in his career. This period profoundly impacted Bobby, pushing him towards unhealthy coping mechanisms like alcohol. But the resilient actor made a triumphant comeback, winning hearts with powerful roles in Animal and Kanguva. Through thick and thin, his wife, Tanya Deol, stood by his side, a fact Bobby cherishes deeply.


In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Bobby spoke about his love story with Tanya, which he described as the most beautiful chapter of his life. Reflecting on their first meeting at Trattoria, a renowned Italian cafe in Mumbai, Bobby shared how it was love at first sight for him, even though Tanya didn’t initially feel the same.

"I met her, I chased her… She was from South Bombay, she didn't give me any attention, but I still chased her," Bobby recounted with a laugh. Convinced that Tanya was the one for him, Bobby’s persistence paid off. “Somewhere I knew she will fall in love with me. And then she did. We met, and in two months, we decided to get married. By this time, my parents were just dying for me to get married.”




Married for nearly 29 years, Bobby expressed his gratitude for Tanya’s unwavering support through every phase of his life. "It is the most difficult thing to leave everything behind and become part of another family. I have sisters, so I know the feeling. Despite ours being a joint family, she stood by us the whole time."



Tanya’s love and dedication extend beyond Bobby to his family, making her an integral part of his journey. Bobby lovingly added, "She takes care of everything I do. I am very blessed. I don't want to brag much, nazar lag jayegi. But she is my Taanu."
