After ‘Cocktail 2’, Rashmika Mandanna and Shahid Kapoor to reunite for new romantic drama: Reports

Fresh off the completion of ‘Cocktail 2’, Rashmika Mandanna and Shahid Kapoor appear to be entering an exciting new phase of collaboration. Their chemistry in the Homi Adajania-directed sequel has already sparked chatter. Now, industry buzz suggests the duo may reunite for another film, this time under the direction of Anil Sharma.According to a report by Variety India, the actors found strong creative sync while working on ‘Cocktail 2’. That experience seems to have paved the way for future plans. “Shahid and Rashmika are believed to have struck a great professional rapport during the filming of Cocktail 2 and readily agreed to work together again when approached for this latest project. This untitled film promises a refreshing blend of romance and comedy, with their on-screen dynamic expected to be more personal, emotional and layered compared to the breezy, modern relationships explored in Homi Adajania’s Cocktail 2.” The untitled film will be backed by Sunir Kheterpal.Backed by Dinesh Vijan, ‘Cocktail 2’ builds on the legacy of the 2012 hit. The sequel is written by Luv Ranjan and also stars Kriti Sanon in a key role. The storyline remains tightly guarded. As per Mid-Day reports, the film is expected to arrive in theatres by September 2026, maintaining distance from Shahid’s other release, ‘O’ Romeo’.On the work front, Shahid is preparing for ‘O Romeo’, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Inspired by gangster Hussain Ustara, the film was released on February 13, 2026.Rashmika, meanwhile, stars next in 'Ranabaali' with Vijay Deverakonda, releasing September 11, 2026. She also has Mysaa and ‘AA22xA6’ lined up.
