Kolkata turns into a treasure trove for quiz enthusiasts
On Sunday, the first edition of Quiz on Wheels, an initiative by Mosedu in association with Calcutta Times, saw quizzers gather at Freemasons’ Hall, Park Street for a treasure hunt. Teams navigated the city on wheels, solving clues, while the event also raised cervical cancer awareness. Two celeb teams – one with actors Gourab Chatterjee & Roshni Bhattacharyya Sen, and the other with Gaboo and Raj from Lakkhichhara took part. Actress Ritabhari Chakraborty, with them, flagged
off the event.

An electric finish
The top five teams to complete the trail were felicitated by actress Sushmita Roy. The team of Sukrit Sen, Shayak Chakraborty, Arijit Sen and Ranjabati Ray clinched first place, while special acknowledgements went to an all women’s team, young participants, senior citizens and the celebrity teams. “I’ve taken part in several treasure hunts, but this one tops the list. It had time, distance and knowledge, which made the atmosphere in the car electric,” said Sukrit Sen, adding that solving a full fledged quiz and submitting it at the next venue added “a great twist” to the quiz.
Decoding clues
Stretching from central Kolkata to the south, the quiz took teams across city landmarks such as the National Library of India, Tollygunge Club and Birla Mandir to name a few. “It felt like a fun road trip,” said Roshni. For Gaboo, “Chasing clues across the city was quite an adventure,” while Raj said, “Once we started solving the clues, we got the kick to find all the destinations.”
