A step to create a safe environment for women
Kolhapur Police has taken it upon themselves to train the women of the city to give self-defence training for their safety. The city police organised a special programme where women were made aware of self-defence techniques and cyber-security. The training, which was a part of the "Raising Day, was organised at the police parade ground. The event was graced by TV actors Hardik Joshi and Akshaya Devdhar as the guest of honour at the event.
The event which kicked off with the tug-of-war between women police staff one side and women and student participants on other, followed by a knowledge quiz. Kolhapur Police along with the Nirbhaya squad shared some tips on the various self-defence techniques. They also demonstrated how to tackle situations when a person is under attack. The session also focused on safety on the internet and maintaining cyber-security among women and young girls.
Also, present at the event were senior police officials like special inspector general Warake, mayor Surmanjiri Latkar, superintendent of police Abhinav Deshmukh and other officers along with hundreds of women participants and girls students gathered at the venue.
