Following her on-stage collapse last year at a NYC music festival, singer Lola Young is now being candid about her “drug recovery.” The ‘Don’t Hate Me’ singer has now revealed that she’s in recovery and is feeling better. The musician was singing “Conceited” when she collapsed on September 27, 2025, and the medical team staff carried her off-stage.

Lola Young confirms she’s in drug recovery

While speaking to The Times UK, the Grammy-winning singer said, “recovery is an ongoing process. I’m not the finished article, but I’m doing a hell of a lot better.” Clarifying what she means by recovery, Young added, “I mean drugs recovery, yes. When you’re in recovery, that doesn’t necessarily need to mean drugs, but me specifically, yes.” The singer also shared that she now regularly attends Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings.

Lola Young describes the on-stage collapse as a wake-up call

The news of Young’s recovery comes six months after she collapsed while performing “Conceited” at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York City in September. After a few moments, a medical team carried her off stage. Three days later, the singer canceled all of her future tour dates and appearances. Speaking to Rolling Stone in March, Young said the incident was a wake-up call. "I am very grateful that it happened because it was, what do you call that? Like, a breaking point which allowed me to then be able to be here today, allowed me to be better for my fans, better for the future, and better for myself," she said.Young has been open about her cocaine addiction in the past and, according to reports, she has been to rehab twice. At this year's Grammy Awards, Lola Young won the Best Pop Solo Performance award for her performance of ‘Messy.’
