Steven Spielberg, the legendary director in Hollywood, shared his words of appreciation for ‘Obsessed’ and ‘Backrooms’ for achieving millions of dollars despite their low budget. The 79-year-old loved the film and applauded them for their amazing box office collection.
Here’s a closer look at Steven Spielberg giving his green light for the two films with the highest earnings.
During the recent screening of ‘Disclosure Day,’ Spielberg walked the red carpet for the film, which will be released on June 12, 2026. “I’m so happy for them. I think it’s so fantastic,” he said about 'Obsession' and 'Backrooms,' during an interview with Pop Drop.
“I think it’s great that they had basically very little money, especially Obsession had under USD 1 million, and the other film had maybe ten or nine, and they’re doing so well, and I just applaud them,” he said with enthusiasm, before adding that he has not seen ‘Backrooms’ yet, but will see it after the chaos gets over. “But I have seen Obsession, and I loved it,” he added.
About ‘Disclosure Day’
Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film revolves around the lead characters trying to uncover a massive cover-up, stating that humanity is not alone in the world, and proving the presence of extraterrestrial life. Meanwhile, the powerful shadow figures are trying to suppress the facts with full force. However, there is an incident that turns the tables, where the reporter starts speaking an alien language. “You could go the AI route, which I’m a bit terrified of. I thought I could make some really strange sounds.” Emily Blunt said during an interview with Sean Evans in ‘Hot Ones.’
‘Disclosure Day’ will hit the theatres on June 12, 2026.
