Robert Savage’s upcoming thriller film ‘Other Mommy’ was all set to be released in May next year. According to the latest news, however, the official date for the release has been shifted to near the end of 2026, surprising fans.
‘Other Mommy’ release date postponed
As per reports from The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Other Mommy’, the horror film which was slated for release in May next year, has officially been postponed. Now, the film’s official release date has been changed to October next year instead. The official date was first set for May 26, 2026, however now it has been shifted to October 9, 2026. The official reason behind the move has not been shared.
The film stars names such as
Jessica Chastain,
Jay Duplass, Arabella Olivia Clark and
Dichen Lachman. The production company behind this film has previously released other hit horror movies such as ‘The Conjuring’, ‘Saw’, and ‘Insidious’. Nathan Elston, who has also written the script for ‘Succession’ has taken over the screenplay for this film.
‘Other Mommy’ is a direct adaptation of the best-selling novel ‘Incidents Around the House’ by Josh Malerman. The premise of the film follows a 8 year old girl named Bela, as she stays in a house filled with problems and her parents marital issues. The haunting tale continues as an evil entity coming out of her closet, tries to take over the house and her.
The spirit however, first needs to convince the girl to ‘let it in’.
The project is being led by a star studded cast. Jessica Chastain has previously worked on a lot of major projects such as ‘Molly’s Game’, ‘The 355’, ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’, ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’, and many more. On the other hand, Jay Duplass has appeared in projects such as ‘Jeff’ Who Lives At Home’, ‘The Puffy Chair’, ‘Room 104’, ‘Transparent’, and ‘Cyrus’ to name a few.
