On Friday, January 2, Nicole Kidman shared the photo on her Instagram Stories. The photograph showed her standing with daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, their arms wrapped around one another. The trio faced the water in Sydney, Australia, with fireworks in the sky. In the image of her daughter wearing a headband reading “2026.”, Kidman wrote, “Looking forward into 2026 xx.”

A meaningful holiday season back home

The new year followed an emotional holiday season for the actress. This was Kidman’s first Christmas since PEOPLE confirmed her separation from Keith Urban in September, after 19 years of marriage. She traveled to Australia with her daughters to spend the holidays at home. A source shared, “Nicole and the girls are in Australia for Christmas. This is all she wanted after a tumultuous fall, She just wanted to celebrate Christmas at home. She's very excited.”

Staying positive amid personal change

Despite the challenges of the past year, Kidman remains grounded. She filed for divorce on September 30, stating “irreconcilable differences.” Still, those close to her say she is coping well. A source told PEOPLE that she is “doing well,” adding, “She's been super positive and focused on things that she's grateful for. And there are so many! She feels very blessed.” Family continues to anchor her during this transition.

Co-parenting and putting children first

Kidman and Urban continue to prioritize their daughters. One source said, “Their daughters live with Nicole, but spend as much time with Keith as they want. There is no drama.” Another added, “Nicole and Keith continue to co-parent. The focus is on their daughters.” Court documents confirm a parenting plan encouraging mutual respect, stating they will “encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.”

Nicole Kidman will spend 306 days with their daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, meanwhile Keith Urban will have them for 59 days with him.
